The longest-running show in Broadway history, Andrew Lloyd Webber's THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA is now in its phenomenal 22nd Year, the Cameron Mackintosh/Really Useful Group, Inc. production, directed by Harold Prince, continues to play at The Majestic Theatre (247 West 44th Street), with no end in sight. On Broadway, since its debut on January 26, 1988, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA has grossed $740 million, making it the highest-grossing show in Broadway history. Total attendance is over 13 million. Its international success - equally staggering - is represented by total worldwide grosses estimated at over $5 billion. This colossal figure makes PHANTOM the most successful entertainment venture of all time.

'PHANTOM' makeup supervisor extraordinaire Thelma Pollard takes Stage Magic "behind the mask" as she gives us an "all access behind the scenes" pass on what it takes to bring the iconic Phantom of the Opera character to life eight times a week! You'll have a front row seat as she transforms current leading man John Cudia into "The Phantom" right before your eyes! On Tuesday, September 22, 2009, The Broadway League and the Coalition of Broadway Unions and Guilds (COBUG) will honor Ms. Pollard as part of "Broadway Salutes," a unique public celebration honoring the myriad of artists who have made Broadway great for decades. Thelma Pollard has been a proud creative member of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA company since 1988!
