WOB Dinner Theater Presents THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW 10/30-31
By: Gabrielle Sierra
In addition to its Mainstage and Children's Theatre seasons, The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre is also known for presenting a number of events throughout the year including interactive murder mysteries, princess and fairytale breakfasts, a wildly popular Breakfast with Santa (and Mrs. Claus), as well as special theatrical productions. For Halloween, Way Off Broadway, in association with Stock•ing Productions, will bring the cult classic The Rocky Horror Show to the stage.
The story unfolds while on the way to visit an old college professor, two clean cut young people, Brad Majors and his fiancée Janet Weiss, run into trouble and seek help at the freaky Frankenstein mansion. However, little did they know that the mansion is inhabited by alien transsexuals from the planet Transylvania and Dr. Frank N Furter is in the midst of one of his maniacal experiments. The Rocky Horror Show was written by Richard O'Brien and first premiered in London in 1973 and went on to spin off a movie adaptation in 1975 starring Tim Curry as Frank N Furter, Susan Sarandon as Janet, and Barry Bostwick as Brad. Since then, O'Brien's show has become a cult phenomenon spurring productions on Broadway and around the globe. The Rocky Horror Show has a book, music, and lyrics by Richard O'Brien and will be directed at Way Off Broadway by Jordan B. Stocksdale. The production is co-produced by The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre and Stock•ing Productions.Videos
