WNYC/WQXR and MTC's 'After Words: WIT' Features Cynthia Nixon, Greg Keller and Carra Patterson, 2/16

WNYCWQXR-and-MTCs-After-Words-WIT-to-Feature-Cynthia-Nixon-Greg-Keller-and-Carra-Patterson-216-20010101

Manhattan Theatre Club, in collaboration with the intimate, state-of-the-art venue The Jerome L. Greene Performance Space at WNYC and WQXR, continues its popular discussion series with After Words: Wit on Thursday, February 16 at 5 pm.

The event will explore the hit Broadway revival of Wit, written by Pulitzer Prize winner Margaret Edson, directed byLynne Meadow, with Tony and Emmy Award winner Cynthia Nixon playing ‘Vivian Bearing.’

Exquisitely written, affecting, and often humorous, Wit follows a brilliant and exacting poetry professor (Cynthia Nixon) as she undergoes experimental treatment for cancer. A scholar who devoted her life to academia, she must now face the irony and injustice of becoming the subject of research.

Amy Eddings, local host of “All Things Considered” on WNYC, will welcome Nixon, along with fellow cast members Greg Keller and Carra Patterson, for a dynamic discussion exploring the play and the critically acclaimed new production at MTC.

The limited engagement of Wit recently is now playing at MTC’s Samuel J. Friedman Theatre through Sunday, March 11, 2012.

The Jerome L. Greene Performance Space is WNYC and WQXR’s state-of-the-art, downtown studio, presenting content for live, radio and web audiences. Through a diverse range of programming that includes live radio broadcasts, audio theater, cultural salons, musical performances, political debates and town hall meetings, The Greene Space is the latest destination in New York City’s incomparable arts and culture scene.
