According to Brian May's website Brian's Soapbox, he has given the go-ahead for a US tour of We Will Rock You, with a stop in New York City, possibly on Broadway. The show is already set for a world tour, beginning in the UK, this year.
"We are finally pressing the button on that USA WWRY tour! Amazing," May wrote. "It will sit down in NYC for a while too!"

As BWW reported in December, West End cast members Kevin Kennedy (Pop) and Brenda Edwards (Killer Queen) will star in UK's We Will Rock You world arena tour. Also in the cast is MiG Ayesa (Rock of Ages, Thriller Live) who will be reprising the role of Galileo, former X Factor finalist Lucie Jones as Meat, Lauren Samuels as Scaramouche, and Sean Kingsley as Khashoggi.
For the remainder of the World Arena tour, which after the UK dates moves to the 02 Arena in Dublin, Pop will be performed by Barbershopera's Rob Castell with Killer Queen being performed by former West End cast member Jenna Lee James.
The world tour will see the show visit arenas in Finland, Denmark, Holland, Luxembourg, Czech Republic, Turkey, Bulgaria and the UK and Ireland in 2013. Further dates in Japan, South Africa, New Zealand and Australia will be announced shortly.
The multi million pound production will be heading to the Nottingham Trent Arena for it's first stop in the UK on 27th March 2013 and on to Dublin on 4th April, before rocking around Europe and returning to the UK in May and June for dates at the Sheffield Motor Point Arena, the newly developed Leeds Arena, the Belfast Odyssey and the Newcastle Metro Arena. UK and Dublin tickets go on sale in Autumn 2012.
