And a Happy Birthday shout-out to Whoopi Goldberg, who turns 60 today!
Comedian, film and stage actress and co-host of THE VIEW, Whoopi Goldberg last appeared on Broadway in XANADU but most recently produced SISTER ACT, in which she also starred in the West End. Among her other acting credits on the Great White Way are WHOOPI, MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM, A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM and WHOOPI GOLDBERG. She also produced THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, which earned the 2002 Tony for Best Musical, and appeared in benefit performances of CHILDREN AND ART and FUNNY GIRL. The actress also voiced the role of the 'Statue of Liberty' in Radio City's NEW YORK SPRING SPECTACULAR this year. Goldberg is one of the few entertainers who has won an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony Award. Among her well known film credits are THE COLOR PURPLE, GHOST and the SISTER ACT movies.
