And a Happy Birthday shout-out to Max von Essen, who turns 42 today!
Von Essen currently stars in Broadway's AN AMERICAN IN PARIS; he was nominated for a Tony Award for his role last year. Before that, he was featured in Broadway's EVITA, LES MISERABLES, DANCE OF THE VAMPIRES and JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR. Among his off-Broadway credits are DEATH TAKES A HOLIDAY, RAGS, THE SECRET GARDEN and CHILDREN OF EDEN in concert, FINIAN'S RAINBOW and more. The actor has also taken the stage in WEST SIDE STORY at TUTS, MAME at the Kennedy Center, THE BAKER'S WIFE and MY FAIR LADY at Paper Mill, and DORIAN in Los Angeles. Von Essen also toured Europe in WEST SIDE STORY and appeared in the U.S. national tour of CHICAGO. His first job after graduating from the University of North Carolina was touring with Liza Minnelli.
