And a Happy Birthday shout-out to John Cleese, who turns 76 today!
Cleese last appeared on Broadway in the original production of Monty Python's SPAMALOT. Before that, he starred in HALF A SIXPENCE and CAMBRIDGE CIRCUS (the latter which he also wrote). He has also taken the stage off-Broadway in his work NEW CAMBRIDGE CIRCUS, as well as in THE MERMAID FROLICS in London. Cleese is best known as co-founder of the comedy troupe Monty Python, behind the show MONTY PYTHON'S FLYING CIRCUS and the films AND NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT, MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL, LIFE OF BRIAN and THE MEANING OF LIFE. Cleese also wrote and starred in the series FAWLTY TOWERS, A FISH CALLED WANDA and FIERCE CREATURES. Among his other big screen credits are CLOCKWISE, two James Bond films, two HARRY POTTER films and the last three SHREK movies.
