Vocal Selections Released for FRECKLEFACE STRAWBERRY
Alfred Music Publishing has announced the release of Freckleface Strawberry: The Musical, piano/vocal selections of the multiple award-winning and nominated Off Broadway musical based on the New York Times Best Selling book by actress Julianne Moore.
Freckleface Strawberry: The Musical features 14 songs from the family-based comedy by composer Gary Kupper that include such instant classics as, "Little Freckleface Strawberry," "I like Danny," "Perfect," "Lonely Girl," "I Can Be Anything," and more. Perfect for audition or performance pieces for young singers, full arrangements are made playable and singable in the collectible songbook arranged for piano and voice, including guitar chord symbols. Character and chorus cues are also notated for rehearsal convenience.Incorporated with lively music and dance, Freckleface Strawberry: The Musical follows the life and thoughts of a young redhead as she struggles with her identity through grade school. Dubbed as "Freckleface Strawberry," she does anything and everything to try and get rid of her freckles - from scrubbing them with soap, to caking on makeup, and even wearing a ski mask to school. The message of self-worth is revealed as Freckleface Strawberry learns that everyone is special and unique in their own way. The new off-Broadway musical has already won a 2011 Tina® award for "Best Ensemble for a Musical," and has been the recipient of several award nominations, including "Best New Musical Off-Broadway" for the 2011 Outer Critics Circle Awards, "Best Choreographer" for the 2011 Lucille Lortel Awards, and "Outstanding New Off-Broadway Musical" for the 2011 Patrick Lee Theater Blogger Awards.
After a brief summer closure starting on April 23, the show will reopen in the brand new MMAC Theatre on August 3, 2011.
