Viola Davis to Join Cast of BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE

According to The Hollywood Reporter, actress Viola Davis will join the cast of Richard LaGravenese's adaptation of the sci-fi best selling novel BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE, written by co-authors Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl.

The actress was recently nominated for an Academy Award for her portrayal of 'Abileen' in the box-office hit, 'The Help'. In the upcoming film, she will play the role of 'Amma'.

The story centers on two young lovers, Ethan and Leena, a girl who mysteriously comes to the novel's small local town. The twosome discover deep secrets about their family history and the small Southern town that they live in. Davis will play the role of Ethan's caretaker who possesses extra-sensory abilities.

Viola Davis is the recipient of two Tony Awards for her performances in King Hedley II and Fences. She received a Tony nomination for her performance in 'Seven Guitars'. Her other film credits include 'Eat Pray Love' and 'Doubt' for which she received an Oscar nomination. She can currently be seen in 'Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close'.
