NEW YORK MUSICAL THEATRE FESTIVAL (NYMF), Monica Raymund of SISU THEATRICAL PRODUCTIONS, and CAVE 76 PRODUCTIONS have released a little Jabali (their inner beast) by adding yet another performance of the world premiere of VOLLEYGIRLS on Friday, July 26 at 1 p.m.

[title of show]'s Susan Blackwell plays a disgraced Olympian coaching an oddball team of high-school volleyball players in this new girl-powered musical with book by Rob Ackerman (Tabletop - 2001 Drama Desk), lyrics by Sam Forman (Sleepless in Seattle, book for F#%king Up Everything), music by Eli Bolin (I Sing,Roller Boogie TV: Sesame Street), choreographed by Ryan Kasprazak (TV: Smash Tour: Billy Elliot) and directed by Neil Patrick Stewart (LA theatre: The Elephant Man - Ovation Award nominations). VOLLEYGIRLS performs at the Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre (The Pershing Square Signature Center, 480 West 42nd Street, NY, NY 10036).

Television star Monica Raymund of NBC's Chicago Fire is making her debut as a lead producer. She remarks, 'I'm so proud of this production, the talented powerhouse girls of the LadyHawks, and the dynamic, three-dimensional female characters who inspire me and convey the show's positive message of self-acceptance and empowerment for young women.'

In VOLLEYGIRLS, Kim Brindell (Blackwell) was once a world-class athlete before she choked and became an Olympic joke. After years of avoiding the sport that shattered her, she finds herself in charge of a team of wide-eyed, misfit, high-school girls. With the encouragement of a headmaster who's had a crush on her since college, and the resistance of a hardline, helicopter P.T.A. mom, Kim finds a way to help the girls, to accept their help in return, and to win it all.

VOLLEYGIRLS will play limited engagement beginning Monday, July 15 and continuing through Saturday, July 27. Opening Night is Monday, July 15 (9 p.m.). The three additional performances include Tuesday, July 23 at 5 p.m., Saturday, July 27 at 1:30 p.m. and Friday, July 26 at 1 p.m. Tickets are $25 and are now available online at http://www.nymf.org or by calling 212-352-3101. Tickets may also be purchased in-person (if available) ½ hour prior to performance at the venue and at the NYMF Hub, Pershing Square Signature Center, starting at 12pm every day.
