Earlier today it was announced that the 70th Annual TONY AWARDS would be dedicated to the victims of the mass shooting at an LGBT Orlando nightclub Sunday evening. At least 50 people were killed and 53 more wounded in the what is now the deadliest mass shooting in American history.

The Tony Awards production issued the following statement regarding tonight's dedication: "Our hearts are heavy for the unimaginable tragedy that happened last night in Orlando. Our thoughts are with the families and friends of those affected. The Tony Awards dedicate tonight's ceremony to them. "

This afternoon, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, Orange County Mayor Theresa Jacobs, and Kathy Ramsberger, President and CEO, Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts made the statement below to thank the Tony Awards and the Broadway community for their support.
