It was just about a month ago when the Broadway cast of KINKY BOOTS, sending a message to politicians who think it's a privilege to pee in the room that matches your gender identity, used their musical's credo, "You change the world when you change your mind" as the inspiration for a wildly fun new music video.

Cyndi Lauper's insanely catchy and uplifting anthem to self-identity that serves as their finale, "Just Be (Who You Wanna Be)" was tweaked a bit to address the issue of who may be allowed to use which room to relive themselves.

The message sure spread, even as far as Chinook, Montana, where Sharon Peat's drama students at Chinook High School put together their own version of the KINKY BOOTS anthem, because they know that where you decide to do your business is really nobody else's business.

First, a look at the original, and then the kids' fabulous tribute.

KINKY BOOTS tells the uplifting and heartwarming tale of Charlie Price, a young man reluctantly taking over his family's struggling business. Charlie meets and finds inspiration in Lola and together, the unlikely pair finds that they have more in common than they ever dreamed possible... and discovers that when you change your mind about someone, you can change your whole world. The Grammy Award-winning Original Broadway Cast Recording ofKinky Boots is available on Sony Masterworks Broadway.

KINKY BOOTS has won the top prize for every production, including the Tony Award (Broadway production, 2013), the Olivier Award (West End production, 2016), the Dora Award (Toronto production, 2016), the Korean Musical Theatre Association Musical Award (Korean production, 2015), and the touring production has won many 'Best Of' Awards in major local markets. The Original Broadway Cast Recording of Kinky Boots won the Grammy Award for Best Musical Theatre Album (2014).

In addition to the Broadway and West End productions of Kinky Boots, the show is currently touring the country on its First National Tour. An Australian production is set to open in October 2016 at Her Majesty's Theatre in Melbourne.
