Today Humanity for Hillary premiered a new video written and directed by Humanity for Hillary executive director Laura Dawn and ART NOT WAR co-founder DaRon Murphy. The video stars Grammy and Tony award winning actor and rapper, Daveed Diggs of Hamilton. From climate change to healthcare to immigration, Diggs gives a tour de force performance laying out the fundamental differences between Secretary Clinton and Donald Trump.
Laura Dawn said of the video, "We hope all voters will take a look at the information in this video before voting, and share the real facts about the two candidates with anyone still undecided. We were so honored to work with Daveed Diggs on this, and his performance blew us away. In fact, we wish Daveed could break down ALL political decisions for our country."
The video is being released by Humanity for Hillary (co-founded by Executive Director Laura Dawn, Producer Sarah Sophie Flicker, cultural movement strategy group ART NOT WAR, and advisor Diane English). Humanity for Hillary is a social media and cultural campaign that has reached an audience of more than 100 million people online. Their focus has been artist led videos and memes that have been viewed over 30 million times.
Humanity for Hillary is powered by the groups Humanity for Progress (led by Murphy Brown creator and award winning director/producer Diane English & tech entrepreneur Chuck Parrish) and Creatives for Humanity (led by Nickelodeon creator and former Oxygen Media Chairman/CEO Geraldine Laybourne, TED's Curator of Special projects Juliet Blake, and award winning producer and broadcast journalist Adaora Udoji), both of which were formed to help utilize artists to reach women and millennial voters.
