FISH IN THE DARK writer and star Larry David is known for his kvetching and complaining about life and the comic had plenty to say before presenting the award for Best Musical at last night's TONY AWARDS.

"The true measure of a man is not to be nominated and still show up to read a list of names of those who are nominated," quipped David, whose new original play did not receive any Tony love. "That's a big man;. That's a big, big man."

Replied co-presenter Jason Alexander, "You say 'big man'; others might say 'loser.'"

David went on to tease that perhaps it was anti-Semitism which stood in the way of his receiving a nomination. "People who, if it were up to them, would put aside the obvious anti-Semitism - yeah, that's right, yeah, I said it; I said it - the anti-Semitism that denies a nomination to a Larry David or a Harvey Weinstein. Then, yes, I am a loser."

Fish in the Dark opened on March 5th. On June 9th, SEINFELD star Jason Alexander will replace David in the lead role.
