VH1 Puts CELEBRITY REHAB On Hold
According to EWonline, VH1's controversial reality show CELEBRITY REHAB is being put on hold. The network currently has no plans for filming new editions of the show through 2012. VH1 has also benched the show's spin-off series, 'Celebrity Rehab Presents Sober House'. Both shows have the possiblity of returning sometime in the future.
The reality television show 'Celebrity Rehab' chronicles a group of celebrities as they are treated for alcohol and drug addiction by Dr. Drew Pinsky and his staff at the Pasadena Recovery Center in Pasadena, California. Following the recent death of two former participants, the show has faced severe criticism. Season Two's Jeff Conaway died last year from complications of prescription drugs, while Season Three's musician Mike Starr passed away after injesting a deadly combination of Xanax and alcohol.
VH1 has announced that for now, it will be replacing the series with 'Relationship Rehab', a less controversial show which deals with fixing broken relationships.The show's host Dr. Drew Pinski is currently working on his daytime CW talk show, Lifechangers.
