Roles are available for approximately 30 teenagers as well as adult men and women ages 14 and up.
This production of All Shook Up requires a diverse cast and provides great opportunity for featured African American actors/singers/dancers.
Those wishing to audition should prepare 16-30 bars of a memorized vocal selection of a contemporary musical theatre or rock song that shows off your vocal abilities. An accompanist will be provided. A Cappella singing is NOT recommended.
Following the vocal audition, a dance combination will be taught by the show's choreographer. Please be prepared to dance and dress comfortably. No flip-flops or baggy sweats. All Shook Up is a dance musical. Everyone will be required to participate in the dance audition.
Please bring a list of all definite and potential conflicts during the May-July time frame.
Headshot and resume (a list of theatrical experience) is appreciated but not required.
Please be familiar with the show before auditioning. The director may ask you for a cold read during your audition.
Rehearsals begin late May.
All Shook Up runs July 22-24 and July 29-31, 2011 at the Stanly County Agri-Civic Center in Albemarle, NC. The show will be directed by Jack Stevenson and choregraphed by Eddie Mabry. Angela Moore serves as music director.Character Breakdown
Chad (20 - early 30's) Roustabout, good looks, owns the stage. Must be able to move well. Rock voice. Think of Birdie making the town faint, but nicer. Vocal type- Baritone or Tenor, at least a G# top (ideally falsetto E, and Belted B)
