Uptown Express' new recording's eleven tracks are a showcase for what Talkin' Broadway describes as "splendid harmonies." The recording is packed with an eclectic song list that features standards, Motown, Broadway classics, dance and contemporary Top 40 hits. With four individual voices joined as one in tight harmonies, Uptown Express goes on a journey through the American songbook and many musical genres.
The recording includes a pairing of the Dusty Springfield classic 'Son of A Preacher Man' with Madonna's 'Like A Prayer' and the CD premiere recording of 'Love Is Love Is Love' by Grammy Award winning songwriter Julie Gold. With doo-wop/swing ('Crazy ‘Bout Ya Baby'), Broadway ('Sing For Your Supper', 'Everybody Rejoice'), Motown ('I Can't Get Next To You Baby', 'You're All I Need To Get By'), and Top 40 ('I'm Yours'), this group shows that they are at home in a variety of vocal styles.
