Unlock'd Adds 2 More Shows to NYMF High-Demand Run

Unlock'd, a new musical comedy presented at the New York Musical Theatre Festival, has just added two performances to its schedule, and will now play a total of eight performances as part of the fourth annual New York Musical Theatre Festival.  Performances begin tonight, Monday, September 17 at TBG Theatre (312 West 36th Street, between 8th and 9th Aves).

Added performances are Friday, September 21 at 4:30PM and Saturday, September 22 at 1PM.

Based on the 18th century mock epic poem "The Rape of The Lock by Alexander Pope," Unlock'd is the winner of the 2004 Richard Rodgers Award with a book and lyrics by Sam Carner, music by Derek Gregor, and is directed by Igor Goldin; plus has music direction by David Andrews Rogers and orchestrations by Tony Award winner Bruce Coughlin.

"Classical meets pop in the funny, screwball musical, Unlock'd, set in a world where beauty is everything! In lavish Hampton Court, surrounded by mischievous spirits, feisty young Clarissa fights to win the heart of the Baron from her gorgeous stepsister Belinda. Chaos ensues and teacups shatter when the Baron's geeky brother Edwin enters the fray," explain press notes.

The cast of Unlock'd includes Jackie Burns as "Clarissa," Alison Cimmet as "Avia," Maria Couch as "Esther," William Thomas Evans as "Caleb," Sarah Jane Everman as "Belinda," Christopher Gunn as "Edwin," Mary Catherine McDonald as "Ariella," Christopher Totten as "Barney," Jim Weitzer as "The Baron," and Daryl Winslow as "Umbriel."  The cast also features Alex Arroyo, Paul Flanagan and Justen Kilmer.

The Unlock'd orchestra includes Eric Svejcar (Conductor / Piano), Eric Degioia (Violin), Sarah Silver (Cello) and Bernd Schoenhart (Guitar).  The design team includes Tony Zimbardi (sets), Colleen Kesterson (costumes), Matthew Richards (lighting), and Ron Piretti (fight choreography).

Unlock'd will be performed at TBG Theatre (312 West 36th Street). The performance schedule is as follows: Monday, September 17 at 8PM; Wednesday, September 19 at 8PM; Friday, September 21 at 4:30PM (ADDED SHOW); Friday, September 21 at 8PM; Saturday, September 22 at 1PM (ADDED SHOW); Sunday, September 23 at 8PM; Saturday, September 29 at 1PM; Sunday, September 30 at 1PM.

Individual tickets for Unlock'd are $20 and are available online at www.NYMF.org or by calling 212-352-3101.  NYMF Memberships – securing tickets to multiple NYMF productions and events - are also currently available.  Memberships begin at $60.  For more information, visit www.NYMF.org.
