Universal Pictures Releases Free LES MISERABLES Movie Companion Book

Universal Pictures has released a free digital companion book to the major motion picture adaptation of Les Miserables titled "Les Miserables: The Musical Phenomenon". The book is available for download in the Apple iBook Store.

This behind-the-scenes look of the artistry of the film celebrates the music, actors, photography, and cinematography of Les Miserables and features:

This multi-touch book, made with iBooks Author, is a must for moviegoers and provides the ultimate experience for all fans of this beloved, classic story by Victor Hugo.

Under the direction of Hooper, the Les Miserables film stars Hugh Jackman as 'Jean Valjean', Anne Hathaway as 'Fantine', Russell Crowe as 'Javert', Sacha Baron Cohen as Thernardier, Eddie Redmayne as Marius, Aaron Tveit as Enjolras, Amanda Seyfried as Cosette, Samantha Barks as Eponine, and Helena Bonham Carter as Madame Thenardier. Original stage stars Colm Wilkinson, Frances Ruffelle and more reprise their roles from the London production.

Les Miserables originally opened in London at the Barbican Theatre on 8 October 1985, transferred to the Palace Theatre on 4 December 1985 and moved to its current home at the Queen's Theatreon 3 April 2004. When Les Miserables celebrated its 21st London birthday on 8 October 2006, it became the World's Longest Running Musical, surpassing the record previously held by "Cats" in London's West End. In January 2010, The West End production broke another record by celebrating its historic 10,000th performance.

Les Miserables will hit theaters on December 25th.
