Producers Aaron Grant, Jana Robbins, Jeremy Handelman, Craig Haffner & Karl E. Held have announced that Tuc Watkins, well known to TV audiences as Bob Hunter on "Desperate Housewives" and as con artist & ladies man David Vickers on ABC's "One Life to Live," for which he won a Soap Opera Digest Award, will play the lead role of Joe White in WHITE'S LIES. The new comedy by Ben Andron & directed by Bob Cline, is now scheduled to begin performances on April 12, 2010, with opening set for May 6, 2010, at New World Stages. Grant, who produced the staged reading in September, 2009, is thrilled to have Watkins on board as Joe White. Mr. Watkins joins a cast that includes Betty Buckley, Peter Scolari, Christy Carlson Romano, Rena Strober & Jimmy Ray Bennett.

Tuc Watkins first appeared in the ongoing role of David Vickers on "One Life to Live" in 1994 & joined the "Desperate Housewives" cast in 2007. He also starred as Malcolm Laffley in the Showtime series "Beggars & Choosers." Other TV credits include guest starring roles on HBO's "Six Feet Under," "CSI," "Cold Case," "Sisters," "NYPD Blue," Santa Barbara" & "General Hospital." His breakthrough film role came in 1999, in The Mummy, with his portrayal of the mild-mannered, bespectacled Mr. Burns. Watkins has extensive stage credits in Los Angeles and regionally, ranging from Julius Caesar to Sexual Perversity in Chicago. He won a 1992 Drama-Logue Award for Boy's Play & was singled out by the critics for his role in Fortune's Fools, at the Cherry Lane Theatre in New York. He also is one of the founders of The All-U-Can-Eat Players.

Some guys are scared stiff at the prospect of settling down, getting married, having kids & Joe White is no exception. He's a divorce lawyer, representing one of his many ex-girlfriends & above all else, he's a bachelor who wouldn't have it any other way. So when his mother desperately wants him to start a family, he'll do the next best thing: make one up! What could go wrong?
