Town Players Opens 2011 Season With Cash on Delivery, Closes 5/22

Town Players of Newtown is pleased to open its 2011 season with the hilarious, fast-paced British farce CASH ON DELIVERY! by Michael Cooney. The play closes May 22.
Unemployed for two years, Eric Swan (Nick Kaye, Bethel) has been making a living by duping local welfare authorities, claiming every type of benefit for the innumerable people he says live at his London address. This scam nets him tens of thousands - tax free! But just when he decides to "kill off" these imaginary benefit recipients because matters are getting a bit too risky, welfare investigators show up at his door. How on earth will he get out of this mess?"This is one of the funniest plays I've ever had the opportunity to direct," director Gene Golaszewski of Brookfield said. "When it comes to comedy and chaos, I believe CASH ON DELIVERY! is comparable to the classic farce Noises Off."
