Broadway veteran Michael Ball will release his new studio album, titled 'Both Sides Now', on February 25, 2013, in addition to launching a UK tour this spring. Both the tour and the album will comprise of 2 halves, encompassing Michael's biggest hits from both his recorded and stage careers. Holland Taylor Made Honorary Texan for Her Play ANN, Beginning on Broadway Tomorrow, 2/18

Emmy Award winner Holland Taylor received a commendation by Texas Governor Rick Perry making her an honorary Texan on January 10, 2013, for her play Ann about late Texas governor Ann Richards. Ann, a new play written and performed by Emmy Award-winning actress Holland Taylor, will begin previews on Broadway at Lincoln Center's Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street) tomorrow, Monday, February 18, 2013 at 8pm, and will open Thursday, March 7, 2013. Ben Folds to Write Short Musical for THE 24-HOUR MUSICALS at the Gramercy, 4/28-29

According to The New York Times, singer and pianist Ben Folds is set to participate in The Exchange and 24 Hour Company's 'The 24-Hour Musicals' 2013 edition. Folds will write a 15-minute musical, which will be cast, rehearsed and performed in just one day, beginning April 28 and continuing through April 29 at the Gramercy Theater in NYC. (more...)

Happy Birthday, Billie Joe Armstrong! Best known as the lead vocalist, main songwriter and lead guitarist for the American punk rock band Green Day, Armstrong recently brought one of his most popular albums to Broadway- American Idiot. In 2010, Armstrong joined the cast of American Idiot, which won two Tonys, for one week in the role of St. Jimmy. He replaced the original Broadway cast member Tony Vincent in fall of 2010 and returned to the role for 50 performances in January 2011. (more...)

Nora Ephron Honored at WGA AWARDS Today

Writers Guild of America, East previously announced a tribute to award-winning, screenwriter, director, playwright, author, and Guild, East member Nora Ephron. The tribute to Ephron, who died in June, will be led by the author Meg Wolitzer, whose novel, 'This Is My Life,' was adapted and directed by Ephron in 1992 and presented at the Writers Guild Awards East Coast ceremony today, February 17th, in New York City.
