Tony Winner Hinton Battle's LOVE LIES - TREAT HER LIKE A LADY to Kick Off National Tour in 2013

Hinton Battle is known to theatre audiences as an extraordinarily gifted performer and recipient of three Tony Awards. Battle now adds "playwright", to his growing list of accomplishments. Hinton Battle's Love Lies – Treat Her Like a Lady, the musical he conceived and debuted this summer at the Midtown InterNational Theatre Festival (MITF) in New York, is scheduled to begin a national tour of key cities at the start of 2013.

Battle has created a bawdy, high energy "dramedy" about three women who arrive at a funeral, only to discover they were all engaged to the same dead man. In this story of love, lies and betrayal, sparks don't just fly – they explode as the women come to the realization that each has been skillfully played.

Using a playlist of iconic pop, R&B, and Gospel songs including the 80's classic "Treat Her Like A Lady" and Battle's new gospel single "Holy, Holy", he manages to inject just the right amount of humor and pathos into this wildly entertaining musical that picked up two MITF Awards recently.

The storyline, says Hinton, came from watching how his sisters and their female friends handled relationship issues like a cheating man and what he calls 'she fault' – or putting the blame on the other woman. "Don't get me wrong," he adds, "but on reflection it turned out to be some pretty funny stuff."

HELLO Entertainment/David Garfinkle, producer of Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark and Ghost the musical, has been on board since the play's festival run and joins 420 West Entertainment, LLC as co-producers of the project's upcoming tour.

Casting for Hinton Battle's Love Lies – Treat Her Like a Lady is close to completion and preparations for the show's road-tour is coming together quickly to start in early part of next year.
