Tom Brangle Joins 'The Framer' Cast

By:

Actor Tom Brangle has been tapped to take over the role of Ronnie, the framer  for the final week of performances of Edward Allan Baker's THE FRAMER, directed by Kevin Confoy at the Michael Weller Theatre (311 West 43rd Street, 6th Floor), and presented by Broken Watch Theatre Company.

THE FRAMER began performances on May 31, and opened June 5 and will run through June 22, 2008 and has been called Backstage Critic's Pick! "Baker, with a talent for good old-fashioned storytelling and a flair for robust humor, turns it all into some two hours of totally arresting theatre." "The folks in The Framer make the dysfunctional family in August: Osage County look pretty tame by comparison. The author's ability to get a big laugh right at the high point of the play's drama is mighty impressive" Theatermania.

Edward Allan Baker returns to Broken Watch with The Framer, a tragic-comedy set in a picture framing shop in a New England mill town. A dying man ceaselessly toils in order to leave his once-abused wife some post-mortem financial security while retracting the emotional brutality of his past but he's side-tracked due to a request from his high-strung brother in-law.

The cast also includes: Suzanne DiDonna (TV: "The Sopranos,"  "Law and Order:SVU"), David Fraioli (Trojan Women), Lori Garrabrant (Never Tell)   Matt Walton (Off-Broadway: Hair, Beirut, The Sweepers; Film: Burn After Reading Coen Brothers; TV: "All My Children") and Dared Wright (Film: Broken Flowers).  Creative team includes: Daniel Kluger (Sound Design), Rebecca Bernstein (Costume Design), Jito Lee (Set Design).

TOM BRANGLE is a lifetime member of The Actors Studio since 1992.  Acting credits at The Actors Studio include Hat Full of Rain, Thunder Rock and Days of Wine and Roses.  Off-Broadway include The Big Vig (Bank Street Theatre) and The Sleeping Girl by Suzanne Bradbeer (Peter Jay Sharpe Theater).  Film: Fish in the Bathtub, Virgil Bliss, Real with Me, Down to the Bone, Chicken Bones, and upcoming Paper Covers Rock by Joe Maggio for which he was also director of casting.  TV: "Law and Order," numerous commercials. Directing: Comfort (ATA) and The Blue Room (Black Nexxus student production).  Tom is a cofounder of www.createurlife.org.
