According to Chortle, Tim Minchin said he was 'humiliated' after learning his voice had been Auto-Tuned for the DVD of Andrew Lloyd Webber's JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR UK arena tour, in which he played the role of 'Judas'.

"I don't like that they put an Auto-Tune on my voice," he said on the "Bit Of A Chat" podcast in an interview with Ken Plume. "It really pissed me off...I know the weaknesses of my voice more than anyone. But I can also hear pitch...It's humiliating... it's f*cking rude, it's insulting."

He continued, "I'm sounding more outraged than I am. I know that they're just trying to do a good product, but they just got it wrong."

Minchin said he had not addressed his complaints with Lloyd Webber, whose representatives have declined to comment.

The arena tour of Jesus Christ Superstar kicked off on 21 September, 2012, at the O2 Arena in London, starring Melanie C as Mary Magdalene, Minchin as Judas Iscariot, Chris Moyles as King Herod and 'Superstar' winner Ben Forster as Jesus. Celebrating 40 years since it first opened in London's West End, the Jesus Christ Superstar arena tour went on to visit Glasgow, Newcastle, Manchester, Cardiff, Birmingham, Belfast, Dublin, Liverpool and Nottingham and culminated in Sheffield on 21 October.

Minchin's musical Matilda is currently prepping for its spring Broadway debut. The actor will also be appearing in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead at the Sydney Theatre in August.
