Theater Talk Journeys thru NYPL's Noel Coward Exhibition, Beg. 7/20

THEATER TALK goes on location to the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center to present a vivid, colorful portrait of Sir Noël Coward (1899–1973), the legendary playwright (Private Lives), screenwriter (Brief Encounter), performer and songwriter ("I'll See You Again"), with two Coward "experts" as guides.

Against the lavish multi-media exhibition, Star Quality: The World of Noël Coward – now on display at the Library through August 18, 2012 – Barry Day, who has written extensively about the late writer and performer for the past 20 years, and Geoffrey Johnson, Coward's American representative from 1963-71, reminisce about the multi-faceted artist known as "The Master" amid a variety of film clips, photographs, and recordings from his remarkable career. Also dropping by, with a captivating contribution to the exhibition, is Lincoln Center Theater Artistic Director André Bishop.

Hosted by Michael Riedel, Broadway columnist for the New York Post, and the program's producer Susan Haskins, this special edition of THEATER TALK premieres Friday, July 20 (2012) at 1 AM on Thirteen (early Saturday morning), followed by airings on CUNY TV* Saturday 7/21 (8:30 PM), Sunday 7/22 (12:30 PM) and Monday 7/23 (7:30 AM, 1:30 PM, and 7:30 PM). The show will be available for online viewing following the broadcasts at www.cuny.tv.

THEATER TALK is jointly produced by not-for-profits Theater Talk Productions and CUNY TV. The program is taped in the Himan Brown TV and Radio Studios at The City University of New York (CUNY) TV in Manhattan, and is distributed to 70+ participating public television stations nationwide.

*CUNY TV, the City University of New York television station, is carried in New York City's five boroughs – on Channel 75 on Time Warner and Cablevision, Channel 77 on RCN, and on Channel 30 on Verizon FiOS. The show is available online anytime at www.cuny.tv and www.theatertalk.org, and via audio-only iTunes podcasts.
