The Players Club of Swarthmore Theater Celebrates End of Centennial Season

Organized in 1911, The Players Club of Swarthmore Theater is celebrating its Centennial Anniversary and will cap this historic event with its "100 Years of Theater Gala" to be held on Saturday May 7, 2011 at the Drexelbrook, one of the regions finest banquet celebration facilities, located at 4700 Drexelbrook Drive in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania. The gala, a Black Tie optional event, will begin at 6:00pm with a meet and greet cocktail hour and silent auction, followed by a formal sit down banquet, fun entertainment and a fund raising live auction featuring a wide variety of wonderful items including vacation options around the world, jewelry, theater tickets, restaurant gift certificates, artworks and much more.

Patrons who wish to make reservations for this event may do so by mailing a check for $100 per person payable to The Players Club of Swarthmore, to Players Club of Swarthmore Gala, PO Box 236, Swarthmore, PA, 19081. Those making reservations should make sure that contact information is included: name, address, phone number and if available, an e-mail address. Upon receipt, those purchasing tickets will be contacted for dinner choice information. Credit card purchases can be made using the number listed below and a representative will get return the call to process the transaction. Anyone wishing to make an additional contribution beyond the ticket price will also be recognized on the contributors list. Kathleen Senkow of Clifton Heights, a former President of The Players Club Theater, who has also appeared on stage there for almost 40 years, is the centennial celebration gala chairperson and she encourages all those who have ever had a connection to The Players Club Theater to please make plans to attend the Gala. She said "it is an event for all those who participated in any way over these many years, whether it is on stage or back stage." Other Gala committee members are Cathy Baum and Cathy Shea-Molloy of Swarthmore, Jack Donlevie of Devon, Margaret and Kenneth Kistler of Berwyn, Celeste Maschmeyer of Wayne and Bohdan Senkow of Clifton Heights.
