The MET Theatre Presents Sketch Comedy

By:

The MET Theatre, in Hollywood, Calif., and Canfro Productions will stage a newly expanded edition of Anthony Q. Farrell's The Audacity, beginning November 10, 2006.

Billed as "Fun at the MET," The Audacity is a sketch comedy show, which premiered last July in a sold-out shorter version.  Farrell was nominated for an NAACP Theatre Award earlier this year for directing his play Room, also at the MET.

"Storylines of sketches include: The trial of Saddam; A heat wave in the Deep South;  The collection of donations for a breast-milk bank; Dueling Bill Cosby impersonators (one of them white); A blind man really pissed off about his visual impairment; What happens when you pick figs for a living; A young Italian-American woman brings her new Black boyfriend home at dinner time; An assassin assigned to kill babies to prevent their future felonies; A study of failed comedy sketches; An examination of pre-marital education; A classic pop song around the campfire; Guys who use their butts to substitute for stars' posteriors in films; A scout for porno film talent; The confirmation of every nightmare you have ever had about dialing 911," state notes.

The Audacity cast includes Farrell, Jeana Blackman, Adam Briggs, Derrick Cole, Michael Sean Corbett, Parisa Fahkri, Eric Hailey, Dion Jackson, Chris Kohlhof, Dana Pupkin, and Wes Robertson, and is written and directed by Farrell.

The MET Theatre is located at 1089 North Oxford Avenue, Hollywood, 90029.  Performances are set to run through November 18, 2006 on Friday and Saturday at 9 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m.  Tickets can be ordered at 323-957-1152.
