The Kelsey Theater Presents DUCK FOR PRESIDENT And More

By:

Life's quirky situations often provide valuable teaching moments. TheatreWorks/USA brings some of these lessons to the stage in its hilarious hour-long musical revue for children, "Duck For President, Fancy Nancy and Other Story Books," coming to Mercer County Community College's Kelsey Theatre as part of the Kelsey Kids Series on Saturday, Oct. 9 at 2 and 4 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is conveniently located on the college's West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.

Exploring such themes as friendship, leadership, the discovery of what matters most, and the trials of just growing up, there is merriment and poignancy aplenty in a show that includes six popular story book adaptations. Performed by a five-member cast portraying dozens of characters, the stories include: "Duck for President" by Doreen Cronin and Betsey Lewin; "Fancy Nancy" by Jane O'Connor; "BabyMouse, The Musical" by Jennifer L. and Matthew Holm; I Have to Go!" by Robert Munsch; "Leonardo, The Terrible Monster" by Mo Willems; and "Pirates Don't Change Diapers" by Melinda Long.

Theatreworks/USA is America's largest and most prolific professional not-for-profit theater for young and family audiences. Since 1961, the company has enlightened, entertained, and instructed more than 72 million people in 49 states and Canada, with annual performances for about four million people.

Tickets are $8 for children, students and senior citizens, and $10 for adults. Free parking is available next to the theater. Tickets may be purchased online at www.kelseytheatre.net or by calling the Kelsey Theatre Box Office at 609-570-3333. Kelsey Theatre is wheelchair accessible and free parking is available next to the theater. For a complete listing of adult and children's events for the 2010-2011 season, visit the Kelsey website or call the box office for a brochure.
