TRY TO REMEMBER THE KIND OF SEPTEMBER WITH "THE FANTASTICKS"

AT THE Jerry Herman RING THEATRE

SEPTEMBER 5 – 15, 2007

The University of Miami's Department of Theater Arts launches its 2007-2008 Season with The Fantasticks, the legendary romantic tale with book and lyrics by Tom Jones and music by Harvey Schmidt.

Holding the world record for the longest running musical after its marathon run at Greenwich Village's Sullivan Street Playhouse, The Fantasticks has been beloved by audiences for nearly half a century. Already seen in over 12,000 productions worldwide, it's a classic coming-of-age story and a timeless celebration of love—first love, lost love, and, ultimately, true love. At the heart of its breathtaking poetry and subtle theatrical sophistication is a purity and simplicity that transcends cultural barriers. With such treasured songs as "Try to Remember" and "Soon It's Gonna Rain," The Fantasticks promises to steal your heart and kick off the Jerry Herman Ring Theatre's 2007-2008 season with unbridled joy.
