THE 2008 MIAMI IMPROV FESTIVAL PRESENTED BY JUST THE FUNNY

The 2008 Miami Improv Festival (MIF 2008) presented by Just The Funny, a multi-weekend festival featuring improv and sketch comedy from around the world, opens its doors to the humor hungry for it's first weekend installment on Friday, June 27, 2008, and keeps the fun rolling through Saturday, June 28, 2008, at the Just The Funny Theater & Training Center located at 3119 Coral Way.  MIF's 6th anniversary edition boasts top improv and sketch comedy acts from around the world, performing shows and teaching workshops at the festival.

The 2008 Miami Improv Festival presented by Just The Funny features headliner, The Groundlings, known best for creating much of the talent seen on TV's popular comedy shows: Saturday Night Live and Mad TV, and imports Los Angeles comic actors to Miami for two MIF 2008 performances.  Since 1974, the Groundlings have been one of the most notable improv groups in the nation, boasting alumni such as, Phil Hartman, Will Ferrell, Julia Sweeney, Chris Kattan, Lisa Kudrow, and Michael McDonald.

South Florida locals will recognize Miami's own mainstay of improv comedy, Just The Funny, which will be opening for The Groundlings with its own popular brand of improv comedy.

MIF 2008 also offers the public a rare chance to get in on the improv action with a master class taught by The Groundlings, where students can learn how to do improv from one the nation's mainstays in improv education.  The festival is so eager to get the public involved in improv, they are offering FREE beginning improv workshops to those who attend any of The Groundlings shows during the weekend on a first come-first served basis.

Tickets to shows and workshops are all available online at: www.miamiimprovfestival.com.
