The Smith Center for the Performing Arts Exceeds Season Ticket Sales Expectations

The inaugural Broadway Las Vegas series at The Smith Center finds early support from the community, as the first two weeks of season ticket sales exceed expectations. Broadway touring productions of THE COLOR PURPLE, Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's MARY POPPINS, MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET and MEMPHIS will be featured in the spring and summer of 2012.
"We've known that there was an audience for high quality arts and entertainment in Las Vegas, and these robust ticket sales validate our assumptions," said MyRon Martin, president and CEO of The Smith Center. "While we have exceeded expectations so far, we still have great seats to choose from."Season tickets for the Spring/Summer 2012 Broadway Las Vegas series are available for $139, $229, or $309 depending on seating preference - FOR ALL FOUR SHOWS, depending on seating preference. Prices include any/all sales tax and handling fees. Individual tickets for the Broadway Las Vegas series will go on sale this November, after subscription sales come to an end. Tickets can be purchased by visiting www.thesmithcenter.com or by calling (702) 982-7805.The Smith Center for the Performing Arts is a public/private partnership that will become the centerpiece of cultural life in Las Vegas, offering a blend of performances by resident companies, as well as first-run touring attractions. The 5-acre cultural campus will feature three performance spaces, the 2,050-seat main performance area in Reynolds Hall and Boman Pavilion's 258-seat cabaret-jazz theater and 250-seat studio theater, and will also be home to a 2-acre park, which can be used for outdoor concerts. Additionally, the new Discovery Children's Museum will be located on the campus. The Smith Center will be a place that will educate, entertain and excite the citizens of our great community. Located in downtown's 61-acre urban development, Symphony Park, The Smith Center broke ground in May of 2009 with a ceremonial Carillon bell casting and ringing. In February 2010, it celebrated its "Topping Out" with the raising of 50 tons of steel. The Smith Center will open March 10, 2012.
