The RRaz Room Adds Freda Payne & More to Program

The RRaz room have announced six additions to their program for this year, including Trini Lopez, and Jim Caruso's Cast Party.

Freda Payne has confirmed the 4th Annual RRAZZiversary Gala Celebration & Benefit For St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, on Wed, 3/21, 8pm.

"HEART & SOUL" THE MUSIC OF Diana Ross, Dionne Warwick & Whitney Houston, starring Shoshana Bean, Slyvia McCalla and Syesha Mercado will now play Sat, 4/14, 7 & 9:30pm. "Heart and Soul" celebrates the Music of Diana Ross, Dionne Warwick and Whitney Houston starring Shoshana Bean (Wicked, Hairspray), Sylvia MacCalla (Rent, Hairspray) and American Idol finalist Syesha Mercado (Dreamgirls - National Tour) with Music Director Davy Nathan (Patti LaBelle, Toni Braxton, Fox's The X Factor).

AN EVENING OF POWERFUL GOSPEL MUSIC WITH BAY AREA'S OWN MEN OF ENDURANCE will play Tue, 4/24, 8pm. Men of Endurance is a traditional gospel quartet from the San Francisco Bay Area. The group was organized in the early '90s. Each member of the group has sung and played with some the best groups and choirs in the Bay Area. The group's debut CD "Live in Oakland" was recorded at the James Moore Theater.

AMY and FREDDY "WE GET ALONG" will play Sat, 5/5, 10pm. Cabaret duo Amy & Freddy make their RRazz Room debut to support the release of their newest album, "We Get Along." This season marks Amy & Freddy's 15th anniversary performing together.

The Soulful Sounds of MICHAEL NELSON will play Sun, 5/6 at 8pm. Born in Vallejo, CA, Michael got his introduction to music in the Church of Christ, where there are no musical instruments.He is an alumni of Joyful Noise.

TRINI LOPEZ presents "Mr. La Bamba" on Tue-Sat, 6/26-30, 8pm and Sun, 7/1 at 5pm. Trini Lopez recorded a series of upbeat tunes for Reprise during the mid-'60s, including the folk standard "If I Had a Hammer" in 1963. The Dallas native cut some Ritchie Valens-influenced rockers for the King label prior to his discovery by producer Don Costa.

Jim Caruso'S CAST PARTY will play Tue, 10/16, 8pm with Billy Stritch on piano and Tue, 11/6, 8pm with Ted Firth on piano. Jim Caruso's Cast Party is a weekly soiree that brings a sprinkling of Broadway glitz to the Birdland in New York City every Monday night.
