The Neo-Futurists Hire New Managing Director

By:

Artistic Director Ryan Walters and Founding Director Greg Allen announce that The Neo-Futurists have hired Dan McArdle as the company's new Managing Director.

Ryan Walters says, "I am very excited to be working with Dan McArdle. He brings a unique combination of passion for the theater arts and business acumen that you often don't find in one person. I am particularly excited to partner with him on audience development strategies. His fresh and innovative ideas are a perfect fit for a company that continues to reinvent itself on stage every week." Greg Allen adds, "The Neo-Futurists are thrilled to have Dan join our administrative team. He brings great experience, enthusiasm, and smarts to run the most exciting theater company in the country!"

Mr. McArdle says, "I'm delighted to working with, and in support of, an incredibly prolific ensemble of artists who create work that is exactly what I think theatre should be: immediate, accessible and honest. The Neos are completely unique in a city with over 200 performing arts companies, and I'm excited to be partnering with the ensemble on developing new opportunities to promote and present their work."

Mr. McArdle received his Masters in Arts Leadership from DePaul University's MFA/Arts Leadership Program, a two-year master of fine arts program that combines a full-time Fellowship position at Chicago Shakespeare Theater with full-time coursework at DePaul University. In addition to significant work with contracting, marketing and event management during his Fellowship at Chicago Shakespeare, Dan coordinated producing efforts for the Silver Jubilee Gala, a 25th Anniversary celebration that raised more than $1.24M in support of the Theater's far-reaching education programs. Prior to enrolling in the arts leadership program, Dan was the Finance Manager with recent Regional Tony-Award winner Lookingglass Theatre Company. Dan is an artistic Company Member with Theatre Seven of Chicago and also serves as their General Manager, he has previously held arts management positions with Goodman Theatre, Westport Country Playhouse and Forestburgh Playhouse.
