The Garden Theatre has announced the StarLite Film Festival February 2-5, 2012. Over the course of four days the StarLite Film Festival will feature a ten hand-selected microbudget films at the Garden Theatre in historic downtown Winter Garden.

A series of workshops will be provided throughout the film festival which will focus on independent and
microbudget filmmaking. Speakers throughout the festival will include Bob Allen of IDEAS Orlando, filmmaker and
writer Banks Helfrich, film critic Roger Moore, director of photography and filmmaker Steven Shea, critic and
filmmaker Tim Anderson, UCF film professor Rich Grula, and special effects makeup artist Lee Grimes. John
Theisen of United Arts of Central Florida will moderate the panels.
“The tools available to independent filmmakers are completely different now than what they were even ten years
ago,” said Michael Poley, Producer of the StarLite Film Festival. “By talking about budgets first, we are
contextualizing film in a way that is different from any other film festival.”
Tickets to films are $5, Sunday’s festival award-winning films are $7, and attendance is free to educational
workshops and panels. All-Access passes are available for only $30. More information at
