Terri White, whose career has spanned over 40 years in show business tonight announced her farewell from live performing.

White performed tonight to open Barbara Cook's Spotlight series, in its ninth season at the Kennedy Center. After what we're told by audience members who emailed BroadwayWorld was an 'amazing performance' the star announced from the stage that because of 'health and other issues' the evening would be her last live performance.

Update: On Terri's official Facebook page, the following update was posted on Sunday "To all those who have read this and sent us good wishes, we want you to know that Terri is ok. Retirement is from concert work and has nothing to do with stage productions which are always group efforts! Thank you all for your love, support and well wishes! It is very heartwarming to see how much everyone cares! We love you all!"
