"THE GLASS MENAGERIE" GRACES THE STAGE AT NEW THEATRE

New Theatre presents its second classic of the season with Tennessee Williams' The Glass Menagerie, running February 26 - March 29, 2009.  Tennessee Williams' most lyrical and powerful memory play about the Wingfield family, THE GLASS MENAGERIE is one of the great masterpieces of American drama and winner of the New York Drama Critics Circle Award for best play. Tom is torn between family obligation and his deep desire to escape his domineering mother, Amanda, and his frail sister, Laura.

"When you look at a piece of delicately spun glass you think of two things:
how beautiful it is and how easily it can be broken."

- Tennessee Williams

Under the direction of New Theatre's Artistic Director, Ricky J. Martinez, and sponsored in part by The Miami Salon Group and Citizens Interested in the Arts, New Theatre veterans, Cliff Burgess, Angie Radosh, Katherine Michelle Tanner and Christopher Vicchiollo return to form part of the cast.  Returning to New Theatre will be Production Stage Manager Clint Hooper, who also served as Set Designer, Costume Designer K.
