Lynne Meadow and Barry Grove announced an extension for TIME STANDS STILL, the critically acclaimed play written by Donald Margulies and directed by Daniel Sullivan that is currently playing to capacity audiences at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street). Tickets for the play are now on sale through Saturday, March 27.
Before the start of previews, TIME STANDS STILL was extended for two weeks based on demand for tickets. The production opened Thursday, January 28 to positive reviews and word of mouth has turned the show into what Joan Hamburg calls, "a play everyone's got to see."
MTC's Broadway premiere of Margulies' COLLECTED STORIES will now begin performances on Friday, April 9 at the Friedman to accommodate the extension of TIME STANDS STILL. The production was originally to begin performances on Tuesday, April 6. Opening night for COLLECTED STORIES will remain Wednesday, April 28.
The productions features acclaimed actor and playwright Eric Bogosian (Talk Radio, "Law & Order: CI"), Tony Award nominee Brian d'Arcy James (Shrek, Off-Broadway's Next to Normal), Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner Laura Linney ("John Adams," Sight Unseen on Broadway), and Golden Globe Award nominee Alicia Silverstone (Clueless, "Miss Match").
Sarah and James, a photographer and a journalist (Laura Linney and Brian d'Arcy James), have been together for years and share a passion for documenting the realities of war. But when circumstances compel them to return home to New York and their circle of friends (Eric Bogosian and Alicia Silverstone) the adventurous couple confronts the prospect of a more conventional life.
