THT Hosts International Manhattan Short Film Festival, 10/6

THT-Hosts-International-Manhattan-Short-Film-Festival-106-20010101

It's never been done before – a film festival that is screened simultaneously to over 100,000 film lovers in over 250 cities, spanning six continents.  Middlebury's Town Hall Theater gives you a chance to not only be part of it, but to vote for the winning entry.

The 15th Annual MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival will showcase 10 short films, from 11 to 18 minutes in length, selected from hundred of submissions worldwide.  The program has a running time of approximately two hours.

"I've always been disappointed that an Academy Award goes to the best short films, but you never get a chance to see any of them," says THT executive director Douglas Anderson.  "Short films are amazing.  Like short stories, they can be very intense or very funny or both.  It will be a real treat to see some of the best short films made this year."

MANHATTAN SHORT is more than just one of the largest film festivals in the world.   Past finalists from MANHATTAN SHORT have gone on to be nominated for Oscars and many of the filmmakers have subsequently moved into the feature film industry.

Audience members will be handed a voting card as well as a full color program, upon entry to every venue. After the last film has screened, they will be asked to vote for the film that stood out the most.

To learn more about the 15th Annual MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival, go to http://msfilmfest.com/ .  The event is Saturday, October 6, at 7:30 pm.

Tickets are $12/$8 students, and may be purchased at www.townhalltheater.org, 802 382-9222, at the THT Box Office (Noon- 5 pm, Mon-Sat) or at the door.
