On Saturday, July 9, 2011, Mary Tyler Moore and Bernadette Peters hosted the 13th annual BROADWAY BARKS!, a star-studded dog and cat adopt-a-thon benefiting New York City animal shelters and adoption agencies. The event, produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, was held in Shubert Alley (located between 44th and 45th Streets, between Broadway and Eighth Avenue). Moore and Peters were joined by an impressive roster of Broadway stars of this season, including Nick Adams (Priscilla Queen of the Desert), Nina Arianda (Born Yesterday), Heidi Blickenstaff (The Addams Family), Steel Burkhardt (HAIR), Kerry Butler (Catch Me If You Can), Norbert Leo Butz (Catch Me If You Can), Bobby Cannavale (The Mother With the Hat), Reeve Carney (SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark), Victoria Clark (Sister Act), Jennifer Damiano (SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark), and many more. Featuring the talents of Marvin Hamlisch, Martin Short, Audra McDonald, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Jane Krakowski and Raul Esparza, the 2011 Black Creek Music Fetival took place this week in Toronto. The stars of the Great White Way were joined by the fantastic Black Creek Festival Orchestra and Chorus, who together delivered an evening of showtunes. For more photos from the event, click here.

Audiences of all ages will marvel as the jungle comes to life when North Shore Music Theatre presents TARZAN, the musical based on the popular 1999 Disney film and beloved story by Edgar Rice Burroughs. Featuring a Grammy Award-winning musical score, written by singer/songwriter Phil Collins, the production runs through July 24. Check out more production shots here.

The best of Broadway is being presented FREE on six consecutive Thursdays this summer with "106.7 Lite fm's Broadway in Bryant Park 2011" - a lunchtime series that began on Thursday July 7th on the Bryant Park Stage. This week's event included performances by the casts of Catch Me If You Can, Chicago, and Million Dollar Quartet. Click here for full coverage!

The Tony Award-winning revival of HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical returned to Broadway on July 5 at the St. James Theatre and officially opened this week. The 10-week only ‘Summer of Love' run will conclude on September 10, 2011. Check out full coverage of the big opening here.

THE MOTHERF**KER WITH THE HAT, which on Monday announced that it has recouped its full capitalization, stars Bobby Cannavale, Chris, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Annabella Sciorra and Yul Vázquez. DreamWorks Theatricals and Neal Street Productions, Ltd. just opened SHREK THE MUSICAL, with book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire and music by Jeanine Tesori, at the Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles. Starring Eric Petersen, Haven Burton, Alan Mingo Jr., and David F. M. Vaughn, the production runs through August 17. For more photos from the big opening, click here!

New Line Cinema's film version of the smash hit Broadway musical "Rock of Ages" is currently filming under the direction of Adam Shankman ("Hairspray"), and a photo of Tony winner Catherine Zeta-Jones, who plays the Mayor's wife, has just been released. Also starring in the film are Diego Boneta as "Drew," Julianne Hough as "Sherrie," Russell Brand as "Lonny," Alec Baldwin as "Dennis," Mary J. Blige as "Justice," Brian Cranston as the Mayor, Malin Ackerman as "Constance Sack," and Paul Giamatti as "Paul Gill."

Yesterday at a press conference in front of Broadway's St. James Theatre (246 West 44th Street), Broadway Impact co-founder Rory O'Malley (2011 Tony Award® nominee) announced that several same-sex couples from the Broadway community will get married onstage at the St. James Theatre on July 25 immediately following that evening's performance of HAIR.
