John Cullum, Amy Ryan, David Schwimmer

Two-time Tony Award winner John Cullum, Darren Pettie and Sarah Sokolovic will star in the New York premiere of DETROIT, a new play by Lisa D’Amour. Also in the cast are Oscar and Tony Award nominee Amy Ryan and Emmy Award nominee David Schwimmer. Directed by Obie Award winner Anne Kauffman, previews will begin Friday, August 24 at Playwrights Horizons’ Mainstage Theater as the first production of the theater company’s new season.

Richard Kind, Jesse Tyler Ferguson

The Hollywood Bowl’s production of THE PRODUCERS ended its limited run on July 29, 2012. The cast featured Richard Kind as Max Bialystock, Jesse Tyler Ferguson as Leo Bloom, Roger Bart as Carmen Ghia, Gary Beach as Roger De Bris, Rebecca Romijn as Ulla and Dane Cook as Franz Liebkind. Cast of INTO THE WOODS

Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s beloved musical INTO THE WOODS, the second show of The Public’s 50th Anniversary season at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park, will run for five weeks through Saturday, August 25. INTO THE WOODS is directed by Timothy Sheader with co-direction by Liam Steel. The first preview took place on Tuesday, July 24. The production features Amy Adams (Baker’s Wife); Jack Broderick (Narrator); Glenn Close (The Voice of the Giant); Gideon Glick (Jack); Josh Lamon (Steward); Jessie Mueller (Cinderella); Donna Murphy (The Witch) and Denis O’Hare.

Jarrod Emick and the Cast

Flat Rock Playhouse in North Carolina presents GUYS AND DOLLS, now playing onstage at Playhouse Mainstage through August 19. The show stars Broadway's Jarrod Emick as Sky Masterson, Garrett Lon as Sarah Brown and John Plumpis as Nathan Detroit. To view more production photos, click here.


Norm Lewis, Liz Callaway

The Town Hall, New York’s landmark theatre and concert venue concluded the Sixth Annual Summer Broadway Festival, with Liz Callaway’s new show, 'Even Stephen', with Jason Danieley, Joshua Henry and Norm Lewis on July 30th. For more photos from the concert, click here!

Patrick Cassidy, Shirley Jones

The 2012 Music Circus season continues with The Music Man, theatre’s musical tribute to the optimism, warmth, stubbornness and innocence of small town America, at Wells Fargo Pavilion now playing through August 5. Hunter Foster, Kathy Fitzgerald

The Muny presents the sixth show of its 94th season, Pirates! (or, Gilbert and Sullivan Plunder’d), through August 5, directed by Gordon Greenberg and choreographed by Denis Jones. The production stars Hunter Foster, making his Muny debut as the Pirate King, along with Ed Dixon and Kathy Fitzgerald. For more opening night photos click here!


Michael Andrew

On July 31, The Nutty Professor, The New Musical opened at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center’s James K. Polk Theatre. Directed by “the king of comedy” himself, Jerry Lewis, upon whose classic 1963 film comedy the brand new musical is based upon, The Nutty Professor company has already delivered a week of preview performances, garnering rave reviews from audience members. The show features music and lyrics by Marvin Hamlisch and a book by Rupert Holmes and stars Michael Andrew in the title role. To view more production photos, click here

Adrienne Warren, Taylor Louderman

Direct from a 13-city National Tour, Bring It On: The Musical, which began previews on Broadway on July 12, opened on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at The St. James Theatre for a 12-week limited engagement through Sunday, October 7, 2012. Uniting some of the freshest and funniest creative minds on Broadway, Bring It On: The Musical features a libretto by Tony Award winner Jeff Whitty (Avenue Q), music and lyrics by Tony Award-winning composer Lin-Manuel Miranda (In the Heights) and music by Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning composer Tom Kitt (Next to Normal).
