The Public Theater opened George Brant's GROUNDED, directed by two-time Tony Award winner Julie Taymor and featuring Academy Award winner Anne Hathaway, on April 26. GROUNDED began previews on Tuesday, April 7 and will now run an additional week through Sunday, May 24 in the Anspacher Theater. Check out more photos from opening night here!

On April 26, The New Group featured original cast members from the company's critically-acclaimed 2005 hit revival of HURLYBURLY: Bobby Cannavale, Josh Hamilton, Ethan Hawke, Parker Posey and Wallace Shawn, with Marin Ireland and Amanda Seyfried. Directed by Scott Elliott, this benefit reading took place at The Pershing Square Signature Center. Check out more photos here!

Eisa Davis, Gabriel Ebert, Nikki M. James, Joseph Keckler, Chris Sarandon, and Or Matias, on piano, just started rehearsals for the LCT3/Lincoln Center Theater production of PRELUDES, a new musical by Dave Malloy, inspired by the music of Sergei Rachmaninov, developed with and directed by Rachel Chavkin. PRELUDES, a world premiere and the first musical to be produced by LCT3 in the Claire Tow Theater, begins performances Saturday, May 23, opens Monday, June 15, and will run through Sunday, July 19 at the Claire Tow Theater. The company of Broadway's THE VISIT gathered in the studio on April 27 to record the musical's original cast album. THE VISIT is the final musical ever written by legendary Oscar Award, Grammy Award and Tony Award-winning composer John Kander and his writing partner lyricist Fred Ebb, before Mr. Ebb passed away. Produced by the Emmy Award-winning and Grammy nominated producer Michael Croiter (Matilda, Big Fish, Heathers), THE VISIT album will be released June 26th, 2015. John Turturro will star in the title role of ZORBA, joined by Adam Chanler-Berat, Robert Cuccioli, Elizabeth A. Davis, Santino Fontana, Marin Mazzie, Robert Montano, Carlos Valdes and Zoë Wanamaker in Zorba!, running for seven performances, May 6 - 10, 2015. ZORBA! will be directed by Walter Bobbie (Chicago) and choreographed by Josh Rhodes (Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella) with musical direction by Rob Berman. April 27, Signature Theatre hosted its annual gala, honoring the civic leadership of John and Amy Griffin and celebratting the singular career of director Tina Landau. On April 28, Bruce Willis and Mary-Louise Parker announced the 2015 Tony Award Nominations LIVE from the Paramount Hotel's Diamond Horseshoe in New York City - also revealing that Kristin Chenoweth (currently starring On the Twentieth Century) and Alan Cumming will officially host the June ceremony. Darren Criss returns to Broadway in Hedwig and the Angry Inch, the Tony Award winning Best Musical Revival, for a limited 12-week engagement starting April 29 at the Belasco Theatre. In addition, Rebecca Naomi Jones (American Idiot, Passing Strange) joined HEDWIG in the role of Yitzhak earlier this month. See more of our first look at both stars onstage here!
