THE MOST FABULOUS STORY EVER TOLD Comes To Mercer County 6/19-6/21

By:

The James Tolin Memorial Fund presents its seventh annual benefit theater event with Paul Rudnick's comedy, "The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told." The show comes to Mercer County Community College's Kelsey Theatre Friday and Saturday, June 19 and 20 at 8 p.m., and Sunday, June 21 at 2 p.m. The Friday and Saturday shows feature a silent auction starting at 7 p.m. and a catered reception and music following the performance. Kelsey Theatre is located on Mercer's West Windsor campus at 1200 Old Trenton Road. Proceeds from the event benefit the Open Arms Foundation and the James Tolin Memorial Scholarship at MCCC.

In Rudnick's alternate version of Biblical verse, Adam and Steve -- and their lesbian counterparts, Jane and Mabel -- begin their tale in the Garden of Eden, hitch a ride on the Ark during the Flood and wind up in modern day Manhattan. Throughout the show, Rudnick's empathetic characters ponder the big questions including the existence of God, and the joys and pains of love, loss and life in general.

Directed by Brian A. Bara, "The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told" features Damian Gaeta of Cranbury as Adam; Dave Hamm of Bordentown as Steve; Nicole Patrick of Columbus as Jane; Maddie Patrick of Bridgewater as Mabel; Alycia Bauch-Cantor of Ewing as the Stage Manager; Kathy Garofano of Morrisville, PA, as Rabbi Sharon; Matthew Paul of Hamilton as Trey; Matty Daley of Toms River as Kevin; and Caitlin Blauvelt of Hillsborough as Cheryl.

Over the past six years, the JTMF has raised over $50, 000. Productions have included Paul Rudnick's "Jeffrey;" Harvey Fierstein's "Torch Song Trilogy;" Neil Simon's "The Odd Couple;" Paul Rudnick's "Mr. Charles, Currently of Palm Beach;" Nicky Silver's "The Altruists;" Charles Busch's "Psycho Beach Party;" and Joe Orton's "What the Butler Saw."

Tickets for the June 19 and 20 benefit shows are $25. Tickets for the June 21 show are $16 for adults, $14 for seniors and $12 for students. (Show contains adult themes.) Tickets are available at www.kelseytheatre.net or by calling the Kelsey Theatre Box Office at 609-570-3333. Kelsey Theatre is wheelchair accessible and provides assisted listening devices upon request. For more information about the James Tolin Memorial Fund, visit www.jtmf.org.
