NYC's Metropolis Opera Project and Broadway's Zachary James present IMBECILE D'AMOUR, an original cabaret act to be produced at Chicago's Gorilla Tango Theatre Sunday, October 25 at 7:00pm. IMBECILE D'AMOUR features the music of Weill, Sondheim, Willson, Holst, Rachmaninov, Mozart, Gounod, Hevner and more, compiled in a story of love to celebrate the week of Halloween. The evening features Jonathon Rose (The Color Purple, South Pacific) on piano and Kiersten Cunningham (Anthology Strings, Group Therapy) on violin.

Metropolis Opera Project was founded in 2009 by Broadway actor, Zachary James (Coram Boy, South Pacific, The Addams Family), NYC composer Kristin Hevner (League of Composers, Look and Listen Festival) and opera singer Megan Nelson (Knoxville Opera, Opera Providence, Metropolitan Opera National Council Winner). The company's annual season includes full-length operas, a One-Act opera festival, a new works festival, as well as various concerts and performance art events.

The fledgling company produces unique musical entertainment in an intimate setting. Audiences can expect to share their experience with no more than 100 patrons per performance. With a general admission price of $10, Metropolis Opera Project aims to provide great, thought-provoking art at a financially accessible standard.
