The moment you have all been waiting for has arrived- the finalists have been revealed! After surviving the auditions, boot camp, and now the judges' home round, the toughest competitors are singled out to go head-to-head. This is the last installment of the three part judges' homes round, which means that the judges have each made their decisions of which four contestants from their group have what it takes to compete in the live finals. We are now left with the final 16 contestants that will be fighting to the finish!

Tonight began with a recap of the long journey that the contestants have been on. We are reminded of how far everyone has come and that tonight is the big night. The judges' deliberations are shown and we are well aware that the decisions have been made.

The first to learn of their fates were Tora Woloshin, Simone Battle, and Drew Ryniewicz. Simon addressed each of them one-on-one and revealed his decision. Tora was first on the chopping block and Simon decided that her performance was not good enough to earn her a spot in the finals. Simon addressed Simone's issue of forgetting lyrics, but in the end felt that she has what it takes to move on. Simon told Drew that her performance improved and said she was the "best teenager." He went on to assure her that she was also "the best contestant of the whole day" and made it through to the finals. Simon had chosen half of his four contestants that would move on and both are very deserving.

Josh Krajcik, Christa Collins, James Kenney, and Dexter Haygood were the first of the over 30s category to hear Nicole's decision. She liked Josh's performance but questioned if he was a star. In the end, his talent won her over and she put him through to the finals. Christa didn't have a solid enough performance, and she did not make it through. Nicole complimented James' vulnerability, but was unsure if he was an artist she wanted to put through. She decided that he would not be in the final four. Nicole was very torn when making her decision about Dexter. She told him "You have this energy and this light about you. You have a good voice. With you its like a hit or miss. My heart says one thing and my head says another." Nicole's heart won the battle and she put Dexter through to the finals. Dexter appropriately celebrated by jumping in the pool!

The first of the groups to learn if they would make it to the finals were 2squar'd, Illusion/Confusion, The Brewer Boys, and 4Shore. Paula liked 2squar'd's performance, but not enough to put them in her final four. Illusion/Confusion also didn't have what it takes to go through to the finals. Paula felt that they "lacked showmanship." The Brewer Boys were the first of the groups to make it to the finals. Paula enjoyed 4Shore's performance and told them, "I'm in awe of your vocal ability." In the end, she felt that they didn't have unity as a group and decided they would not be in the final four.

Brian "Astro" Bradley, Nick Voss, Skyelor Anderson, Brennin Hunt, and Phillip Lomax were first up for the boys to hear their fate. L.A. called Brian "a champion" and decided to put him through to the finals (A good decision- this kid is going to be a star!). Nick's performance was not good enough to earn him a spot in the finals. L.A. felt that Skyelor's country style limits him and did not put him through. Brennin also did not make the final cut (The cries of teenage girls can be heard around the country!). L.A. warned Phillip, "I can't have you give me Sinatra every time," but felt that he deserved to be in the finals and put him through

Next in the girls category to find out Simon's decision was Jazzlyn Little. Simon liked her, but did not feel she was good enough to receive a spot in his final four.

Tiger Budbill and LeRoy Bell were the next of the over 30s to learn if they would move on. Nicole praised Tiger's performance, but wanted more from him and did not put him through to the finals. Nicole told LeRoy that he has "a beautiful voice," but questioned if he wants to win enough. She decided that he should be in the finals.

Chris Rene was the third of the boys to make it to the finals. L.A. said he "liked him from the beginning."

The two groups made up of solo performers, Lakoda Rayne and InTENsity both made it to the finals. Paula told Lakoda Rayne, "I think you can make history."

Caitlin Koch and Tiah Tolliver were the next girls to find out Simon's decision, one that he struggled with for each of them. Simon liked Caitlin, but felt that there were others better than her and did not put her through. Tiah is one of Simon's favorites, but he wanted more from her performance. He made the decision for her to move on to the finals and told her, "You have the potential to be fantastic if you start believing in yourself."

With only one spot left in the finals for the boys, Tim Cifers and Marcus Canty were last to learn if they would move on. Rihanna asked L.A. to tell Tim that she liked his humbleness, but L.A. felt that "maybe it takes a little selfishness to be a star" and decided not to give him a place in the finals. L.A. enjoyed Marcus' performance and made him the fourth member of his category to move on.

Paula revealed her decision to the last groups, The Anser and The Stereo Hogzz. She believed that The Anser has talent but felt that their voices do not blend together and decided they would not make it through. Paula told The Stereo Hogzz that they are "potential stars" and made them the final group to go to the finals. Like Dexter, The Stereo Hogzz also felt the best way to celebrate was to jump in the pool!

Stacey Francis and Elaine Gibbs fought for the last spot in the finals for the over 30s category. Nicole felt Stacey has the voice, but not the confidence. In the end she decided to put her through to the finals. I agree with this decision, Stacy is extremely talented and one of my favorites. Nicole had the most trouble deciding that Elaine would not move on and got very emotional.

Simon had to decide between Rachel Crow and Melanie Amaro for the last spot in the finals for the girls. He had much difficulty with decision, but decided to put Rachel (Another one of my favorites- she is adorable and has a great voice!) through and not give Melanie a spot in the finals.

This was a decision that Simon regretted. He admitted, "I think I've made a mistake" and went to Melanie Amaro's house and apologized to her and her family. He decided to make room for one more in the finals and asked her back.

So there you have it, after an emotional episode we now have our final 16- I mean 17! The contestants that will be competing in the finals are: Simone Battle, Drew Ryniewicz, Josh Krajcik, Dexter Haygood, The Brewer Boys, Brian "Astro" Bradley, Phillip Lomax, LeRoy Bell, Chris Rene, Lakoda Rayne, InTENsity, Tiah Tolliver, Marcus Canty, The Stereo Hogzz, Stacey Francis, Rachel Crow, and Melanie Amaro.
