Tremor Theatre Collective's inaugural production, THE RUB, is a site-speci?c original work, conceived and directed by Nessa Norich, an alumna of Barnard College's theatre program and Jacques Lecoq International School of Theatre.
Described as "a surreal and playful investigation of the frustration, anxiety, passion, complacency, selfdoubt, delusion, isolation and desire that come with being heirs to a state rotting from the inside out, THE RUB recognizes Shakespeare’s characters as archetypes that we identify in our society today—the ruthless politician, the single mother ?ghting for her son’s place in the world, the well-meaning corrupted child, and us, the heirs of a world, for better or worse, to be handed over in the decade to come. A new interpretation of this well-known tragedy is brought out instinctively through improvisation and re?ection on everyday life."
THE RUB will take place in the sprawling Magic Futurebox, a warehouse turned safehaven for bold, new performance artists in Brooklyn. This otherworldly performance, staged in an unconventional space, guarantees to provide audiences with a singular, immersive, and memorable experience.
