THE ODD COUPLE Runs From 5/7 - 6/7 At The John W. Engeman Theater
By: Reynard Loki
The John W. Engeman Theater at Northport is pleased to present Tony Award nominee Michael McGrath and Broadway veteran Jim Poulos in Neil Simon's hilarious comedy The Odd Couple.
The Odd Couple is one of the most famous American comedies in the last 50 years and offers a humorous portrait of ordinary guys who are extraordinarily irreconcilable! Based on the conflicting lifestyles of two battling and newly single middle-aged roommates - the obsessive neatnik news writer Felix Ungar and the disorderly and sloppy sportswriter Oscar Madison - this combustible bad "marriage" is a popular favorite full of hilarious fun.The Odd Couple will play the following performance schedule: Thursdays at 8:00 p.m., Fridays at 8:00 p.m., Saturdays at 8:00 p.m., and Sundays at 2:00 p.m.In addition, there will be matinees on the following days: Saturday May 16, 2009 and Saturday May 30, 2009 at 3:00 pm.The Odd Couple is produced for the John W. Engeman Theater by Richard T. Dolce, the theater's Producing Artistic Director. The director is BT McNicholl who is currently represented on Broadway with Billy Elliot as the resident director. He returns to the John W. Engeman Theater after directing the hit comedies The Foreigner and Lend Me a Tenor. The assistant director is Katherine Carter who was an assistant director on Billy Elliot. The casting director is Stephen DeAngelis who has been a valued member of the John W. Engeman Theater since its inception and has cast all of the main stage productions to date. Stephen is on staff at Grey NYC having cast over 2,200 network television and radio commercials.
