THE HEIRESS' Jessica Chastain & Dan Stevens Visit GMA & THE VIEW Tomorrow

THE-HEIRESS-20010101

The Heiress' Jessica Chastain & Dan Stevens will appear on ABC's "Good Morning America" tomorrow, Thursday, September 8th between 8:30AM-9:00AM on channel 7. Jessica Chastain will also appear on ABC's "The View" tomorrow between 11:00AM-12 noon on channel 7. Check local listings.

The Heiress stars Academy Award nominee Jessica Chastain as Catherine Sloper, Academy Award nominee and Emmy Award winner David Strathairn as Dr. Austin Sloper, the leading man of "Downton Abbey" Dan Stevens as Morris Townsend and Tony Award winner Judith Ivey as Lavinia Penniman. Written by Ruth & Augustus Goetz, The Heiress is directed by two-time Tony Award nominated playwright and director Moisés Kaufman.

The Heiress also features Molly Camp, Kieran Campion, Virginia Kull, Mairin Lee, Ben Livingston, Dee Nelson and Caitlin O'Connell.

The Heiress is produced by Paula Wagner, Roy Furman, Stephanie P. McClelland, Luigi Caiola/Rose Caiola, Jim Herbert, Ted Liebowitz, Stacey Mindich, Jill Furman, Ricardo Hornos, Jon B. Platt, Eric Schmidt, Margo Lion/Rachel Weinstein and Jujamcyn Theaters.

Dan Stevens is appearing with the support of Actors' Equity Association. The Producers gratefully acknowledge Actors' Equity Association for its assistance of this production.

The Heiress is the story of Catherine Sloper (Chastain), the shy and sheltered daughter of a prominent New Yorker. Caught between the demands of an emotionally distant father (Strathairn) and the attentions of a passionate young suitor (Stevens), Catherine must navigate the terrain of love and regret, desire and duty, a chance for happiness and the burden of fortune…as only an heiress can.

The design team includes Tony Award winner Derek McLane (sets), Academy Award winner Albert Wolsky (costumes), Tony Award nominee David Lander (lighting), Tony Award nominee Leon Rothenberg (sound) and Peter Golub (original music).

This production marks 17 years since the celebrated play was last seen on Broadway. The original production of The Heiress, suggested by the Henry James novel Washington Square, premiered on Broadway in 1947 at the Biltmore Theatre. The 1949 Academy Award winning movie version was adapted from the play by the Goetzes, and was directed by William Wyler, starring Olivia de Havilland, Montgomery Clift and Ralph Richardson.
