Welcome to THE FRIDAY SIX: Q&As With Your Favorite Broadway Stars. Want to know what hooked them to a career in the theater? Their dream roles? Their Broadway crushes? Read on!

In this week's edition, we caught up with Ryan Steele, who is starring as 'Specs' in NEWSIES- currently playing at the Nederlander Theatre!

What is the first Broadway show you ever saw?

MOVIN' OUT. I was that 13 year-old in the back freaking out over John Selya and Elizabeth Parkinson.

What is your most unique pre-show ritual?

Hmmm... Before the show, I'm normally sitting in the dressing room laughing about something with the paper boys until 5 minute call. OH! And I usually have a Schmackary's cookie in my hand.

What is your most memorable "the show must go on" moment?

I've been pretty lucky so far. Nothing too major has happened to me on stage (knock on wood). One time, when WEST SIDE STORY was out of town in D.C, there was a fire alarm incident. My buddy, Kyle Coffman, and I were on stage by ourselves doing a pretty quiet scene. We didn't know what to do when the alarm started going off, so we just kept going. Our stage manager eventually told us to get off stage. We found the whole cast crammed into the stage door hallway in costumes. Eventually, the entire audience was escorted outside- One of those audience members being Stephen Sondheim. It ended up being kind of fun. The audience was super supportive when we started the scene again...and we have some funny pictures.

What is the one role you want to play before you die?

The choreographer. Does that count?

Who is your Broadway crush?

My heart belongs to my cast ;)

Where can people stalk you online?

On Twitter: @RySteele!
