TCM Celebrates Betty Hutton with 3/15 Four-Movie Block

Actress/singer Betty Hutton, who died Sunday, March 11 at age 86, will see her distinguished career celebrated with a four-movie block on Turner Classic Movies.

"Betty Hutton was totally unique - a great star, a wonderful friend, a dear lady and unimaginably complicated," says TCM host Robert Osborne in the press notes. "She brought enormous joy to the world with her talent, and I don't think anyone ever loved an audience or being a performer more."

Growing up in near poverty in Detroit, Betty Hutton sang at her mother's speakeasy until she started getting roles on Broadway and in Warner Bros. musical shorts. After Paramount gave her a starring role in The Fleet's In (1942), Hutton went on to star in classics like Annie Get Your Gun (1950) and "Best Picture" Oscar-winner The Greatest Show on Earth (1952).

TCM's Betty Hutton Tribute will air Thursday, March 15. The schedule is as follows:
